It's good to see dealers listing the 2014 Chevrolet SS, but... I don't think that the sunroof and spare wheel/tire kit (if equipped) are worth an $8k ADM.

I am not as excited about this as I was for the G8. Maybe its the curvier front and rear fascias, maybe it's the lack of a manual. I just can't get excited about it.

It's weird this for some reason reminds me of the Pontiac G8 GT, but even 7 years old the G8 is still gorgeous and better looking.

It doesn't look as good as the G8, doesn't offer a manual, and costs too much. I'll take a Charger R/T or 300C please.

But those also don't have manuals

Seems I wasn't alone with the G8 thought process haha

I think the G8 also has some nostalgia factor in the sense that it, and the rest of Pontiac, died young with one last hurrah. At least stateside.

The thing that no one seems to grasp with the newer, "less-attractive" styling, is that it's just in-line with the current Commodore, just as the G8 was. The G8 was a VE generation, and the SS is a VF generation. Check out the Holdens, and see that the new styling is softer on them, also.
Anyways, /rant.

Why list all differences in prices without comparing features and options?

I really would consider one of these in a couple years, but the lack of a manual is really offputting to me, at least right now, coupled with where I live/drive and all that fun stuff. I've thought really strongly about ditching the Vette and getting a G8 GXP, but as rare as they are, I kind of think I would feel bad letting it sit outside and putting 20k a year on it.
Which is why I started looking at used CTS-V's. Again. Maybe next year...

Well 1) because laziness, 2) because Google exists, and 3) because I figured I made my point.
An R/T Max or 300C gives you all the luxury trimmings and 370hp for about $7k less than a base SS, or you could spend a little more and get the 470hp SRT8s. I would go for an R/T Road and Track or a Super Bee.

So what? I get that. I know what non US cars look like. I didn't like the G8 cause it was a Holden with a different grille. I liked its styling regardless of where it came from. And I dislike this styling regardless of where it came from, nor do I have to like it. It's no different than liking one car but disliking it after a facelift.

True, you're right. I have just seen so many people think that they made it uglier to be a Chevrolet without seeing the whole picture. I like the sharper looks of the VE, also. I'm just convinced that this needs to be given a chance as it is an improved version.
Secretly I'm seriously lamenting the lack of the man-pedal.
